Introduction
I am Carol Gregg and have enjoyed taking pictures throughout my life. I started with pictures for my high school yearbook and shadowing my big brother in his basement darkroom. Since then, I have taken pictures of friends, family, church events, and travels. During the COVID pandemic, I began to explore photography more seriously, studying the craft, improving my equipment, and taking photos of colleagues. I am now in a season of life in which I have time to focus more on photography and to share my joy of taking portraits with others.
My photography focuses on children, families, high school seniors, graduates, and headshots. I am happy to work with all ages. I use outdoor public locations in Durham, North Carolina as settings for my work.
I have a particular heart for working with nonprofits, foster families, and others who may not have access to high-quality portraits.
As I am in the process of improving my skills and upgrading my equipment, I do not charge for my photographs, but gratuities are welcome.
About What to Wear
First of all, it is important to be comfortable. Please wear clothing in which you feel comfortable and confident. It is best to choose clothing that is a gentle solid color that corresponds well with other members of the group. Long sleeves and long pants or skirts work well to draw attention to the face. On hot days, loose clothing may minimize evidence of sweat. Please avoid wearing solid black or white. It is a good idea to bring a comb or brush with you to give your hair some last-minute attention.
